Guided Relaxation

Recently, I was asked to provide a proposal along the lines of “positive thinking” for the people who live in local retirement home. Initially, I expected to provide an introductory presentation to 6 or 8 people. Soon after I arrived, the room was nearly filled to capacity. The residents are mostly elderly, but despite some diminished faculties most are completely “with it”. I spoke to those attending about what I do, who I see, why people come to me, what I can help with, how it works and how I ended up doing what I do. I seem to have made a favorable impression because I’ll likely be offering two classes per week entitled, “Guided Relaxation and Positive Thinking”. Classes will have groups of up to 8 for six consecutive session. While my presentation also attracted the merely curious, I was impressed with the open mindedness of those attending. It’s all a positive step forward for all involved.
