Knives, Forks and Spoons

An article in a recent national newspaper suggested obesity could be partially addressed with smaller plates and cutlery. At first blush this seems silly, but there is an element of truth in it. Smaller plates and cutlery alone won’t tackle obesity but an awareness of portion size, eating slowly, stopping before getting too full, and healthy food on small plates is certainly part of a healthy weight reducing regime. Add some light exercise to better eating habits and the weight will reduced. Change one’s habit permanently and a person’s weight will stay at a healthy level. Smaller plates, bowls ands cutlery? Certainly, but only in conjunction with other healthy eating habits.
