Well Being.

Well being. What is it? It’s like “happy” or “fun”. These words seem like generic abstractions that everyone knows but few can describe or define. Is well being a physical state or an emotional state? It’s both and a balance between the two. Physical well being is sustained health and the absence of discomfort. Emotional well being is a sustained calm heightened with happiness and elation, punctuated with occasional self imposed stress. Well being is a state of homeostasis: healthy, happy, calm. How can this idealised state be achieved and maintained? This is the million dollar question and a question for which I have only partial answers. Many arrive at a state of well being only after a prolonged period of being unwell physically, emotionally or both. If the goal is well being, then hypnotherapy can be part of the process of recovering and sustaining well being.
