Last Wednesday I met with a small group of elderly ladies for a session of guided relaxation. The sessions are about guided relaxation but also about confidence and resilience. I asked each lady in turn what they might like to achieve as a result of these sessions. Answers varied slightly but the main issue was staying active. Whether it was confidence to walk, engage in friendships, or go on outings staying active was vitally important. Then we had a session of guided relaxation and at the of the session, two ladies walked out without their canes.
