Dire warnings in the UK media continue to remind the general public that obesity is on the increase across all ages and demographics. It won’t be long before more than a third of the entire population is obese.
In order to help people manage their weight, I prefer to set a good example. Eat healthy. Don’t over eat. Don’t snack between meals. Yes, we all know this. I remain vigilant in this regard, but add one important ingredient: exercise. I ride a bike and usually cycle around 115 to 120 KM per week. The exercise isn’t a licence to eat as much or whatever I want, but my metabolism keeps burning off whatever I put in it. Healthy food, sensible portions and exercise. Keep these three principles in motion for a lifetime and obesity will always be kept at bay.
