I’ve mentioned in previous blogs that perseverance is what’s necessary to achieve meaningful change through therapy. Perseverance also applies to the therapist who needs to build a thriving business over time, usually years. Over the last decade there have been challenges to starting and sustaining any business. Here in the UK, any business that’s survived the Great Recession could be said to have succeeded. Client numbers, the number of people a therapist sees on a weekly basis, vary considerably. One must remain optimistic when client numbers temporarily dwindle. Perseverance is not simply blind faith, but the certainty that all one’s good works will attract more clients.
