It feels like August again, although unlike any other August. Red destinations are turning amber. Amber destinations are turning green. Some will go abroad, but many more will be sitting in a rented cottage or caravan in Devon or Cornwall. So why does it feel like August? It’s overcast, drizzling slightly and the streets seem just a little more subdued, a little more quiet. This subdued and quiet aspect, in relation to my therapy practise, has been an annual feature since I began to practise 14 years ago. A quiet August usually means a busy September.
If the international travel traffic light system remains as is, then I too will be abroad for the second half of August. Like most people in the UK, I haven’t been too far from home in 15 months and certainly not on any excursion that might qualify as a holiday. And I need this break! Then I will be prepared for September and look forward to summer again.
