The summer vacation. It’s the culmination of the year’s efforts in a society where we should be working to live and not living to work. Many of us are so busy with the relentless demands of day to day life that we have to go abroad to have a lengthy conversation with out partners, spouses and children.

Here’s my vacation check list: Take the watch off and turn off the mobile phone. Resist the temptation to check emails. Work can do without us for a few weeks. Be calm. Reflect. Breath fresh air. Don’t over eat. Don’t indulge in too many beers no matter how hot the weather. Sleep deeply and relieve an accumulation of stresses in your dreams. Wake up when you want without an alarm. Put your feet up every day. Enjoy the surroundings. Make the effort to do very little without guilt.
