The Election and the NHS.

We’re into the last week before the general election and the candidates have taken off the gloves and their respective positions have hardened around core issues. Across the political spectrum there’s an insistence there will be more funding for the NHS and health care. Political parties will hope to manage expectations of the electorate but when one assesses what each party will offer the NHS and what’s actually needed, then there’s still a shortfall. The shortfall will still be in the billions of pounds and this means the NHS will be in crises for the foreseeable future. We have to make critical decisions as a society, but adequate funding for the NHS has to be deemed essential.
